On Saturday of the 2nd of June, a traditional VII Charity Run of Societe Generale Group companies in Russia took place in Izmaylovsky Park. The management and employees of Rosbank, Rusfinance Bank, DeltaCredit Bank, Societe Generale Insurance and ALD Automotive, Group partners and the members of mass media participated in the event, about 400 people in general. The project was a part of a global initiative called Citizen Commitment Time that is promoted by Societe Generale in all the operating countries.
Charity run was organized jointly with “Downside Up” and “Sindrom Lubvi” funds that help families that bring up children with Down syndrome. Societe Generale Group companies in Russia transferred 1 ruble to the funds for every meter of the distance covered by the participants. This year 1 416 300 rubles were collected as a result of the run, 238 822 rubles came from registration fees and donations. Summing up, 1 655 122 rubles were collected in total and this sum will be transferred to “Downside Up” and “Sindrom Lubvi” funds for individual and group programs of early help for children with Down syndrome.
The main run was carried out according to lap system with a lap distance of 1250 meters. The main goal for the participants was to run as long as possible within half-an-hour time with a chip attached to an ankle that counted elapsed meters. Children of the employees, clients and partners made their contribution as well by running 300 meters. Moreover, everyone could wear anything they wanted and participate in a costume run called Fun Run, where one has to be creative to win. This year, 13 teams participated in Fun Run. There were superheroes, cooks, angels, small Vasilisa the Beautiful and even Pechkin the Postman skiing and wearing ushanka. The spectators liked Le clown team that ran as circus clowns, playing musical instruments, blowing soap bubbles and covering everyone with confetti and serpentine from the crackers.
