Rosbank and American Express sign a new licensing agreement for American Express card acceptance at merchants
Rosbank and American Express sign a new licensing agreement for American Express card acceptance at merchants serviced by United Card Services.
Rosbank today announced that it has signed a new licensing agreement with American Express to acquire merchants onto the American Express network in Russia. Under the terms of the agreement, Rosbank will work in partnership with United Card Services (UCS), who will provide the servicing and technical support for American Express Card acceptance. The launch date is scheduled for Q3 2017.
“This agreement is in the interest of American Express Cardmembers as it will allow them to use their cards at a wider network of merchants across Russia, and it is also good news for the merchants as they will gain new, high spending customers,” said Natalia Konkina, member of the Management Board and Operational Director of Rosbank.
"We welcome American Express’ decision to expand its circle of partners in Russia. This is a great opportunity to increase American Express acceptance in Russia, and we are proud to add American Express to the portfolio of payment systems whose cards are serviced by our company,” said Elena Vinogradova, CEO of United Card Services.
Colin O'Flaherty, Vice President and General Manager, Bank Partnerships EMEA, at American Express said: “We look forward to working with Rosbank and UCS to grow our merchant acquiring presence across Russia. This will benefit American Express Cardmembers based in Russia as well as those visiting the country, as their Cards will be accepted at even more places.”
