Rosbank and The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts present works of Vienna Art Nouveau representatives to Russian citizens
In the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts the grand opening of the first Russian large-scale graphic exhibition of the most outstanding representatives of Austrian art of the early 20th century, Gustav Klimt and Egon Schiele, took place with the support of Rosbank.
At the exhibition, located at the Gallery of the 19th and 20th century European and American Art, more than 100 sheets from the collection of the Albertina Museum (Vienna) are displayed. These artworks originated during different creative periods and show different kinds of drawings: studies of the figures related to the paintings, portraits, single studies of female nude figures, etc. With the traditional graphic technics – black chalk, pencil, watercolors, and gouache – the artists were solving new esthetic problems occurring at the turn of the 19th and 20th century.
"We are proud of our cooperation with the Pushkin Museum and our involvement in a number of its projects, and this exhibition is no exception. It is known that the first large-scale exposition of graphic works by Klimt and Schiele in Russia has already been named the most anticipated exhibition of 2017. And indeed it is. We are glad that Russian citizens can see the graphic art of the great Austrian artists with their own eyes today," - said Rosbank Deputy CEO Konstantin Artyukh.
In May 2016 Rosbank and The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts signed a cooperation agreement in the field of cultural heritage preservation and development of the Gallery of the 19th and 20th century European and American Art. The there-year program of cooperation is focused on preservation, development and popularization of the Gallery collection.
