Societe Generale Group employees for the 6th time run for the sake of children
The VI Charity Run of Societe Generale Group in Russia was held on Saturday, May 20th. Employees of Rosbank, Rusfinance Bank, DeltaCredit, Societe Generale Insurance, ALD Automotive and also media representatives and partners of the Group took part in the event. More than 500 people were on start.
This year was the first time when the run took place in the Izmaylovsky Park, one of the largest parks of Moscow. The track went through the picturesque places in the forest, and the athletes had the opportunity to feel like they were in a countryside and relax from the bustle of the metropolis.
The event was traditionally held together with Downside Up fund, which helps families raising children with Down syndrome. Each meter surpassed equaled to one ruble transferred by the companies of Societe Generale in Russia to Downside Up fund. This year by the results of the run, as well as through registration fees and donations 1 430 126 rubles were collected for individual and group programs of early intervention for children with Down syndrome from birth to 7 years old.
“This Saturday we have run for the 6th time to help families raising children with Down syndrome. During this time, Societe Generale and Downside Up became good friends, and we hope to continue helping the children being under care of the Fund. With joint efforts we collected more than 7.1 million rubles during 6 years”, commented Elena Kojadei, Director of Corporate Communications and Advertising Department at Rosbank, Societe Generale Group Country Communication Manager in Russia.
The main run was organized on circular system at distances of 1 and 3 km. Each participant was given a special chip which was fixing the distance surpassed. The task of the participants was to run as many meters as they can in half an hour. The children of the employees, customers and partners also contributed and ran a distance of 300 and 600 meters in accordance with the age group. And everyone was able to please the guests attending costume race Fun Run, in which there was important not speed, but an impressive image. This year the costumed race was attended by 14 teams, and the winners were chosen by SMS voting. The favorite of the Fun Run was the team "Ne mimo!" who ran in the images of the classic French mimes.
After the run the trainers of I LOVE RUNNING school helped the participants to properly stretch muscles. And while the race organizers were calculating the results and preparing for the awards ceremony, the guests were dancing to the driving songs of the Glamurniy Kolhoz band and watching the performance of Rosbank’s corporate chorus.
Due to the fact that 2017 has been declared the Year of ecology in Russia, for the first time at the venue, we organized separate collection of plastic. The Hartiya company – a professional operator of waste management – helped to set up special containers in which the participants threw bottles of water and other items made of this material. Waste materials collected during the run did not go to suburban sites, and was transferred to the professional processors.
The largest manufacturer of stationery and office goods Comus, one of the leaders of the market of brokerage services in consumer lending MoneyCare, the company in the field of IT outsourcing Our Service Agency, the manufacturer of gift products Alfa-Gifts, catering company Shiko acted as the partners of the run and CROC company was the innovative sponsor of the run.
A day before the Moscow run the banks of Societe Generale Group in Samara took part in similar event and collected 550 thousands rubles for Samarskaya guberniya fund. Money will be spent for organizing sports event for children from needy families.
